The lectures will present the enormous pedagogical and social usefulness of chess, the transversal approaches of chess in the classroom, chess as a tool for cognitive development in school contexts, chess for teachers: tools, fears and opportunities. There will also be workshops such as Chess curriculum at school from the Chess School of Miguel Illescas (EDAMI).

The motto of the congress is a simple tool for teachers to work transversely in the classroom which is also complemented by two main ideas: it is not necessary to know anything about chess to attend and learn and that there will be many more practice sessions than theory. The program is designed so that the registered ones contribute ideas and critics especially in the workshops.

The congress is aimed at teachers and trainers of any field: educational entities, chess professionals and people with pedagogical concerns. Attendees can obtain many resources and tools for the classroom that allow them to use it in their classes. In addition, the ideal conditions exist for contributing new ideas and generating attractive proposals while sharing the best practices of the attendees and the speakers.

Again it is the Gredos-San Diego schools and the National University of Distance Education (UNED) that are promoting this II International Congress of Chess and Pedagogy, which will be held July 3-6 in Buitrago del Lozoya (50 minutes from Madrid).
