Ten DIY's to do with your child to create toys or decorate your bedroom

One of the things that makes a child happier and more proud is to do things himself. Imagine having a very cool and colorful room where most things are made by himself.

I propose 10 DIY's to do with your child to create toys or decorate your bedroom, it does not matter if you do it alone or with a little help, that you and the parents will judge, depending on the age of your children and the difficulty of each activity. In general it's about recycling with objects that we have at home, we will almost always need cardboard, washi tape, white glue, colored paints, masking tape and scissors, it is not required to be an ax in crafts, or know how to draw, almost all DIY's are construction activities, with which your child can then play.

A few days ago I commented on Ten basic ideas to keep in mind to decorate the perfect children's bedroom, that once you have decorated your child's bedroom with the basics, you have to fill in details to give personality and life to the space, today I show you some wonderful examples with which to do it.

The tree of imagination

You only need cardboard, in the absence of it, you go to look at some appliance store, which in this case give it a tree shape, but you can do what your imagination takes you, some giant flowers, a sun, a sea with fish, ...

Draw with pencil the cardboard two tree silhouettes and cut them, mount them with the indentations that you will have made in each piece, as you see in the image. With the scraps of cloth or paper that you will hook with white glue on the cardboard you will decorate the tree, you can also shape the fabric or papers, yourself. You can also use gomets or washi tape to decorate.

A dollhouse castle format

To make a princess castle for girls or a battle fort for boys you need the same as the previous one, cardboard, scissors, pencil, paper, Aironfix or similar, washi tape, gomets and white tail.

You have to draw on the cardboard the castle shape you want, you can do this we see here or look for a princess castle or a fort of Indians, yourself, in any case you should draw the silhouette on the cardboard.

You can download an image from the internet, print it on paper and then cut it onto the cardboard, depending on the size of your castle, you will have to print the silhouette in parts. They don't have to be both equal parts, remember that you must make a recess to each piece to fit the castle.

Before fitting it you will cover with fabric, paper, aironfix, paint, whatever you want the two pieces of the castle. Once done and dry, you can ride it and play with it, use clicks or other small dolls for it.

A garland to decorate

A very current trend in children's bedrooms and that children love because it fills their bedroom with color, it is to put garlands on their walls. You can make pom poms of wool or tissue paper, I propose that you recycle and make these so original with egg cups.

It is about that you cut them, paint them and make a hole through which to pass a string, knot the string after passing each piece so that they remain neat. You can mix colors, and you can put them on the wall, on the ceiling or in a lamp.

A cabin where to dream

What kid doesn't like to be hiding under the table, behind a door or inside a box, since he has to do it, create cabins together where you can play, read and be with friends and also decorate your bedroom.

In this case we do it with cardboard boxes, cut four squares and four triangles, it is about joining the cardboard pieces with Aironfix or colored adhesive tape, first you join the squares, windows and doors are well placed and then you join the triangles to make the cover, once you have the two finished pieces join them together and decorate them with washi tape.

A pinwheel

It is perfect to play and to decorate shelves, desks and other areas, put more than one will give color to the bedroom. To make them you need a straw, cardboard, scissors and the classic bookbinding piece what you see in the image and that you will find in craft stores or stationery stores.

You can use a colored or stamped card, you can stamp it yourself with a marker or with stamps, to assemble it, you must make four diagonal cuts to the square cardboard and join them with the binding piece in the center of the cardboard next to the straw, here you will see all the steps How to do a pinwheel with this printable.

A playground

Use washi tape or Aironfix to delimit and design a playground, you can draw a house on the wall, a racing circuit on the ground, a landscape or a zoo with animals, add the necessary toys and furniture to finish delimiting the space.

Toys made with cardboard

We have seen that With cardboard boxes you can do what you want, in this case we will make a toy, exactly it is an airplane, although you could make a car or any other piece.

You start with a large cardboard box where you know that your child will fit inside, and customize it, cutting areas and sticking the rest of cardboard pieces with adhesive tape so that it closely resembles an airplane or car. You can then paint with acrylic paint or cover with cloth, paper or Aironfix.

The memory game

For this one simple but entertaining game You need cardboard, slate paint, a pencil and scissors. Draw in pencil on the cardboard a grid with 30 equal squares, and with one centimeter adhesive tape you hook the tape following the lines in pencil, and then paint this face of the cardboard with slate paint, once dry you can already remove the tape.

Now we decorate the other side with white dots, we need a pencil with rubber on top and white acrylic paint, the eraser will be used as a stamp to stamp the cardboard, smear the rubber with paint and stamp the cardboard. Once the paint dries, you can cut the cardboard through the pencil lines we have drawn on the other side.

Then think of 15 different motifs like hearts, squares, stars, suns, moons, letters, numbers and you draw them with plaster on each piece of cardboard on the side of the board, repeat the process twice. It is a memory game and you must have two pieces with the same motif drawn. Put them in a bag of pretty clothes to keep them well and be able to leave it in sight.

House-shaped boxes to store your toys

What child in your bedroom does not have thousands of small junk, which are difficult to order, I propose that you make together house-shaped boxes lined with cloth. For this you need cardboard, cloth, pencil, scissors or cuter, ruler, adhesive tape and white glue.

First draw and cut the shapes on the cardboard with scissors, with the cutter we will make the windows and doors, this part is better done by the parents, since the cutter is more delicate to use. You need four pieces for the walls, two for the roof and one for the floor.

Line the six pieces with fabric, the walls of one color and the roof of another, perforate the fabric of the windows and doors and from behind we add another fabric with a different print. With adhesive tape we put together all the walls and the floor on the inside, to create a box, we do the same with the two pieces of the roof, which will not join the walls as it will cover the box. Nice right?

A moon-shaped mobile

In this case I don't tell you how to do it since in the images it is perfectly explained, you see that it is very simple to make, you need three pieces of cardboard, adhesive tape to assemble the cardboard, scissors to cut the tissue paper in the form of white bangs to line the moon and glue to hook the bangs into the cardboard.

We will use mobile to decorate the bedroom, hang it with a string in a corner, I recommend that behind the moon put a dim and warm lightIt will appear to be illuminated and will be perfect for children to sleep watching the moon.

With this beautiful DIY we finish a list with lots of creative ideas that will beautify your children's bedroom, go ahead and propose to your child some of these activities, you are going to have a great time doing it together.

In depending on how old they are, you will help them more or lessThey are ideal activities and toys for boys or girls, in addition to being proud of their wonderful toys, they embellish the bedroom and add magic and color.
