Books for girls or boys? Better enjoy books for everyone

It is true that girls and boys are different, but that does not mean that they have to differentiate in their external appearance (and taken to the extreme) the stories that are addressed to one or the other.

It is part of the message launched by the consumer association Let Toys be Toys, regarding the tendency by certain publishers to offer products that seem to be aimed only at boys or only girls; when both genders might like common themes.

I do not know if you remember, but this entity can be attributed an action of months ago so that the Toys'r'us toy chain ceases to limit the access of boys and girls to toys, due to the publicity on them In reality it is nothing more than a marketing strategy: books are separated according to their theme, bound to make the 'target audience' feel more identified ...; and they are labeled "books for boys or girls".

Also (in its negative part) it could be inhibiting acceptance by 50 percent of the child population, which in reality will not happen because children are sometimes much smarter than adults.

Because the pink and violet tones, the motifs of bags or butterflies, and the glitter, throw back many boys. Maybe pirates and aliens, not so much girls. But what about the inside? That is something else: a good reading chosen by the child, without adult intervention, is able to make them live intense experiences, and make them feel the pleasure of being caught by an interesting book.

It seems to the association mentioned that this form of marketing is extremely outdated. It seems to me that it is limited, and that it impoverishes the options of small readers; It also assumes that girls do not like adventures or fights, and this is very biased.

Definitely it would be more about attending to individual tastes based on age, expectations or initiatives, or so I think. By the way, as good advice never comes in handy, and making it clear that who should choose is the child, here are these tips for solving doubts when choosing reading.
