RAIM project: favoring the integration and intercultural coexistence of children of foreign origin

The Support Network for Children in Motion is made up of 31 entities coordinated to protect and promote the rights of children affected by migration processes. It seeks to raise awareness about this reality in society, and it was during the past year (2013) when this project called RAIM was created, with the support of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.

Childhood on the move means those children who move for different reasons, the center of a country or between countries, and whose transfers can expose them to situations of risk of receiving insufficient attention, or suffer economic or sexual exploitation.

Through this project we begin the coordination of a network of entities with the objective of identifying and disseminating good practices in the field of extracurricular education (educational activities developed outside the scope of formal education) aimed at promoting integration and intercultural coexistence of children and adolescents of foreign origin

Save the Children is one of the entities that participate in this project, but RAIM is characterized by allowing the meeting and permanent coordination, which is done through meetings, and above all, the online platform Child Support Network. It is expected that with the dissemination of the manual (digital version and paper) It is expected to have a positive impact in the medium and long term in the inclusion, development and quality of life of children and adolescents.
