Body defects associated with cancer

A curious study by experts from Emma Children's Hospital (Netherlands) has linked different body defects in children with the risk of cancer. Apparently, certain defects such as deviation of the spine or asymmetric extremities are abnormalities with a greater presence in children with cancer.

To reach this conclusion, the experts carried out an extensive study for three years, taking the data of 1,073 children suffering from cancer, 989 of them had been diagnosed with cancer and treated for a long period, the remaining 175 children had just been diagnosed. the illness.

We analyzed all those irregularities that presented the morphology of each child, any physical aspect that was not found within the patterns classified as normal. A group of healthy children was also studied to make the relevant comparisons. The results, according to experts, clearly showed that children suffering from cancer suffered many more morphological abnormalities, up to 26.8% of children with cancer subject to the study showed at least one of these malformations, more than two affected 5.1% of children and three or more malformations suffered 0.9% of patients. These results show that there is a relationship between malformations and cancer, experts indicate that the same genes responsible for development in children are also involved in cancer development.

The conclusion seems obvious, certain morphological patterns can alert experts about the onset of cancer in the future. Perhaps from now on these warning signs can be interpreted and controlled, and action can be taken before a certain disease appears.
