The beauty of mothers: 33 beautiful photos that praise postpartum and motherhood bodies

The photographers Aimee and Jenna Hobbs, passionate about motherhood, are responsible for these very special photo sessions they have titled 'A Mother's Beauty'. Each summer they gather a group of women dressed only in underwear and their children, to celebrate the beauty of their mother's bodies. Some of them have had children recently, others a few years ago.

Their bodies may not be perfect, but they are all real and beautiful. They are mothers who proudly wear the marks of their motherhood, the fullest experience in their lives. The photographers have allowed us to share with you all these 33 beautiful photos praising postpartum and motherhood bodies.

Aimee and Jenna are sisters and also mothers. Aimee has two children aged 7 and 8, as well as two adult adopted children. Meanwhile, Jenna has two-year-old twins, two daughters aged 7 and 4, and is currently pregnant with her fifth child.

Giving visibility to these women want to break the stereotypes that society imposes on mothers about the need for go back to the body they had before having children. Why are perfect bodies sought? Why return to the body before when you are not the one before? Although there are women who have the same body (or even better), many others do not get it, and nothing happens as long as they feel comfortable in their own skin.

Seeing that many mothers avoided going out in family photos because they were not comfortable with their bodies, the sisters thought about holding these beautiful annual photo sessions in which they celebrate the beauty and joy of motherhood.

"Childbirth and motherhood change us, physically and emotionally."

"We must break with the stereotypes that society imposes on how mothers' bodies should be. My body has stopped shaming me and now I feel comfortable in my own skin." Amanda, 27 years.
