A dad manages to calm his baby by giving him a used mom shirt

A few years ago, something quite incredible was discovered: Babies are born knowing the smell of their mothers thanks to the amniotic fluid. They are born with a highly developed nose precisely to ensure food, and that is why women are always recommended not to wear perfumes or colognes on their chest or neck, so as not to mask their body odor.

To show a button. This video is going viral because it demonstrates what I just explained, that Babies know their mother by their smell and, when they perceive it, they think and feel that mom is there. It is the video of a dad who manages to calm his baby by giving him a used mom shirt.

The baby was left alone with dad

As we read in DailyMail, he was three months old when the father was left alone in the care of his son. At one point, the baby began to get restless, cry, looking for mom, and the man began to do his best to calm him.

We do not know how much time passed, we do not know if he took it in his arms or not, if he walked it, if he sang a song, if he rocked it, if he changed his diaper, if ... come on: we do not know if he did what a father is supposed to have what to do when your child cries, so we don't know if it was the first or last resort.

The fact is that a friend came to suggest that he would take a used shirt from his wife and put it on his face, and the first surprised was he, seeing that it worked.

Is your nose really such?

So is. They come prepared with a survival instinct such that they cling to their mother's smell as if they were life (Well, in fact, practically life is going, especially if they live in unsafe countries with few resources). So you can see some samples of their abilities I leave some examples:

  • If one woman washes one of the two breasts, the baby will prefer to breastfeed the other, which maintains the body odor.
  • If a baby is placed on one side an object with the smell of his mother and on the other an object with the smell of another woman, the baby turns his head towards the one that preserves the smell of his mother.
  • When a breastfed baby is hungry at night he is able, even if he has no light, to go to the breast and start breastfeeding guided by his nose.

So we already know why this little one calmed down. The question is whether his calm lasted a lot, since at some point he would realize that there was no mother. Likewise, the ideal situation is that, in the absence of the mother, the father puts on a shirt of her so that, in addition to the smell, have arms that take it and take care of it.
