The heartbreaking speech of a 9-year-old girl at the latest racist events in Charlotte

I think I discover nothing by saying that the US (and much of the western world) has a problem of racism that is getting worse as governments squeeze their citizens more and more with cuts and loss of rights and quality of life.

There the controversy does not stop before the action of the police these last weeks and months, with quite inexplicable deaths. A week ago, without going any further, they ended the life of an unarmed 40-year-old man, who held his hands up, and that of another 43-year-old man in Charlotte, because they claimed he carried a gun in his hand , when the videos throw more doubts than conclusions.

All this is splashing the children, the little ones, who are the future of the world, and some have already begun to speak. Zianna Oliphant, 9, is making his speech go around the world and has already become an icon of the fight against racism and the sign that something is doing very badly in your country.

"I feel they are treating us differently"

In just two minutes of video, Zianna manages to get her feelings to the listener. A black girl who feels that by being she is being treated in a different way. In Cadena Ser they have translated his words and you can read his speech below:

I came here to talk about how I feel. I feel that we are being treated differently from other people and I don't like it because our color says nothing about us. We are black people and we shouldn't have to feel that way. We should not protest because you are treating us badly. We do this because we need it and we have rights. I was born and raised in Charlotte, and I have never felt this way until now, I can't stand how we are treated. It is a pity that they are killing our fathers and our mothers and we cannot see them anymore. It is a pity that we have to go to the cemetery and bury them. And cry to them. We need our fathers and mothers by our side.

It is indecent that children have to grow up in such a world

It's just an example of a racism that doesn't seem to be diminishing, based on the results at the European polls, where extreme right parties seem to be getting more and more votes. In Spain, for example (without being from the extreme right), the PP remains the winner of the elections despite not doing much to help in the Syrian conflict.

And so we walk, we don't know very well how to explain to children, to our children, why there are children in the world who suffer so much without need, and trying to explain that we all have the same rights and deserve the same respect, while many adults continue to behave in a very different way, offering a disastrous example.
