Last week's question
Last week we asked you, at what age would you let your children create a Facebook profile? While some years are missing, network security is a topic that worries parents a lot.
The most voted answer was Anamare, who told us:
My daughter is 11 years old, most of her classmates have their own cell phone with internet access, wasap, facebook ... We have talked about it a few times and I have explained "the inconveniences" of this type of "virtual" relationships, as for example you think to be talking with a friend and it turns out that the mobile has been taken by his older brother, for example. Or that if you send a photo to a friend, she can share it with many people and in the end your photo reaches people you don't know. For now we both agree that it is still early and you do not need it, because if you want to talk to someone because it is urgent I leave my mobile to send a message, or call by phone. For me I would wait until 16-17 years, more or less the age that I consider that everyone begins to decide their companies and already has some experience in life. But I know it will be difficult to extend it so much, because even the teachers in the institutes ask them to become a tuenti or wasap group to send information. I would like this kind of thing to be legislated to protect teenagers' privacy.
